Russian forces launch widespread air strikes across Ukraine

On Thursday, Russian forces conducted a series of coordinated strikes across Ukraine, targeting the industrial city of Pavlohrad, the capital city of Kyiv, and an agribusiness facility in Dnipro. The assault on Pavlohrad, a critical logistics hub for the Ukrainian military, involved drones, artillery, and aerial bombs across five districts. Regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha reported 76 injuries, including children. While reports vary regarding the exact death toll—with one source citing seven fatalities and another reporting five in the city plus two additional deaths in the broader Dnipropetrovsk region—the destruction of local infrastructure remains extensive.

The attacks represent an intensification of Moscow’s ongoing campaign against logistics and economic targets, including food suppliers and retail chains. These strikes follow a pattern of utilizing ballistic missiles and jet-powered drones to pressure Ukrainian defenses. Ukrainian officials have highlighted a significant shortage of air defense systems, which has hindered efforts to repel these aerial assaults.
