Cyprus extends deadline for social security debt installment plans

The Social Insurance Services of Cyprus have announced an extension of the deadline for submitting applications to repay overdue social insurance contributions in installments. Employers and self-employed individuals now have until October 31, 2026, to file their applications electronically via the official Social Insurance Services website.

Under this regulatory framework, debtors are permitted to settle their arrears in up to 54 equal monthly installments. The program offers significant financial incentives for early repayment: those who choose to settle their debts in fewer than 54 installments will receive a proportionate reduction of additional charges, potentially reaching up to 27%. Furthermore, taxpayers who opt to pay the total outstanding amount in a single lump sum will be fully exempted from any additional surcharges previously imposed on the debt. This initiative applies to both the Social Insurance Fund and other funds managed by the Social Insurance Services.
