Cyprus announces tender for new Legal Service building

The Cyprus Department of Public Works has officially launched a tender for the construction of the new Legal Service of the Republic building. This project, which has an estimated cost of €68 million excluding VAT, involves the design, construction, and 12-year maintenance of an 11-story facility. The complex will feature a minimum total area of 23,410 square meters, including 16,010 square meters for the superstructure and 7,400 square meters for a two-level underground area.

The project is slated to begin in April 2027, with a construction and design period estimated at 48 months. This marks the second attempt by the state to initiate the project, following the cancellation of a previous tender amidst controversy between former Auditor General Odysseas Michaelides and Attorney General George Savvides. The environmental approval for the site was granted in December 2025, paving the way for the current tender. The deadline for submitting bids is set for January 22, 2027, and the project is fully funded by national resources.
