Cyprus launches €68 million tender for new Legal Service building

The Cyprus Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works has announced a new tender for the construction of the Legal Service building. The project, valued at €68 million excluding VAT, marks the government's second attempt to advance the construction following the cancellation of a previous tender amid public controversy between former Auditor General Odysseas Michaelides and Attorney General George Savvides.

The project involves the design, construction, and 12-year maintenance of an 11-storey building with a total area of at least 23,410 square metres. The structure includes 16,010 square metres of above-ground space and 7,400 square metres of two-level underground parking and facilities. This development follows environmental approval received in December 2025 and preliminary design competitions conducted by the Department of Public Works.

Work is scheduled to commence in April 2027, with a total project duration of 48 months for design and construction. The tender is open to all qualified economic operators, and the deadline for bid submissions is January 22, 2027. The contract will be awarded based on the most economically advantageous tender, with funding provided by national resources.
