Cyprus extradites suspect in Hamas arms supply network to Germany

On March 19, 2026, Cypriot authorities extradited a Lebanese-born man, identified as Kamel M., to Germany to face charges related to a Hamas arms supply network. Kamel M. had been arrested at Larnaca Airport on March 6, 2026, upon his arrival from Lebanon, following the issuance of a European arrest warrant one month prior. Kamel M. is one of seven individuals indicted by the German federal prosecutor before the State Security Court in Berlin. The other defendants include Wael F. and Borhan el-K. (both born in Lebanon), Danish national Yusef K., German nationals Abed al-G. and Ahmed I., and Bulgarian national Mohammed S. All are accused of being members or associates of Hamas. According to the indictment, the suspects were involved in illegal procurement activities, with reports specifically citing Kamel M.'s alleged participation in securing approximately 300 rounds of live ammunition in August 2025.

This case remains active as the defendants face prosecution for their alleged roles in supporting the militant group's logistics. The legal proceedings are being conducted under the jurisdiction of the German state security judicial system.
