Man seriously injured following garage explosion in Sotira

A 30-year-old man was critically injured on Friday evening, September 11, 2026, following a bomb explosion in the garage of his residence in the municipality of Sotira, Famagusta. Emergency services, including the Fire Service and local police, were dispatched to the scene immediately after the incident. The injured man was transported to the Famagusta General Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Police authorities have cordoned off the area to conduct a forensic investigation into the circumstances surrounding the blast.
