Tensions escalate as Putin warns against European troop deployment to Ukraine

He further linked the electoral success of the AfD in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt, which secured 43.8% of the vote, to systematic failures in Western security and economic policies.

Simultaneously, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, while visiting Canada, urged U.S. President Donald Trump to impose strict sanctions on Russia immediately to curtail its capacity to produce ballistic missiles and weaponry. Zelenskyy emphasized that these decisions must be taken rapidly to halt current escalations. The Ukrainian president is scheduled to meet with Trump in New York in late September to discuss diplomatic efforts to end the conflict, which have remained at a stalemate since the beginning of the year.
