Panathinaikos completes signing of Anass Salah-Eddine from Roma

Panathinaikos has officially announced the acquisition of 24-year-old defender Anass Salah-Eddine on a one-year loan deal from AS Roma. The agreement, finalized in mid-September 2026, includes an optional purchase clause for the upcoming summer, allowing the Greek club to secure the player on a four-year contract at their own discretion. There is no mandatory purchase condition linked to player performance or participation statistics.

The Moroccan international, born in Amsterdam in 2002, began his career in the academies of AZ Alkmaar and Ajax before gaining prominence at FC Twente. Following a transfer to Roma in February 2025 for over 8 million euros, he spent the 2025-26 season on loan at PSV Eindhoven, helping the team secure a league title. His strong performance at the club level led to his selection for the Morocco national team squad for the 2026 World Cup, where he made four appearances.

After arriving in Athens on Saturday, September 12, the defender successfully completed his medical examinations and signed his contract with the Greek side. He was present at the OAKA stadium to support his new teammates during their match against Panetolikos shortly after the deal was processed.
