Ierokipia 2026 cultural festival begins in Geroskipou

The 2026 Ierokipia festival, a major cultural institution for the Municipality of Geroskipou, officially commenced on the evening of September 11. The opening event, held at the central Geroskipou Square, was marked by a concert titled "We Sing Our Poets," which featured performances by Greek artists Pantelis Thalassinos and Babis Stokas, accompanied by the Cyprus Guitar Orchestra and singer Katerina Parashou. Health Minister Neofytos Charalambidis attended the event, which drew a large crowd.

Following the successful launch, the festival program continues with a theatrical performance titled "Tonight I Am Not For Anyone" on September 16 at the Geroskipou Gymnasium at 20:00. On September 20, the Cyprus Percussion Group is scheduled to hold a classical percussion concert at Kato Vrysi. Mayor Nikos Palios expressed his gratitude to the contributors and the public for their warm reception of the opening festivities, which have established a positive tone for the remainder of the cultural season.
