Olympiacos BC players visit Makarios Hospital children's oncology ward
On Saturday, September 12, 2026, a delegation from the Olympiacos basketball team visited the pediatric oncology ward at Makarios Hospital in Nicosia, Cyprus. The visit took place during the team's stay in the country for the annual Neofytos Chandriotis basketball tournament.
The delegation included team captain Kostas Papanikolaou along with players Jean Montero and Codi Miller-McIntyre, accompanied by Dimitris Chandriotis, the father of the late Neofytos Chandriotis. During the visit, the players engaged with the children currently undergoing treatment, as well as their families and the hospital's medical and nursing staff. The athletes distributed gifts they had brought from Athens, signed autographs, and took photographs with the patients to offer support and encouragement in their ongoing medical battles.
This initiative is part of the broader philanthropic mission associated with the Neofytos Chandriotis tournament, an annual sporting event in Cyprus dedicated to supporting families and children facing health challenges. The club’s participation serves as a gesture of solidarity with these patients and the local community.
