Four suspects remanded in Limassol following massive ketamine seizure
On September 13, 2026, the Limassol District Court ordered an eight-day remand for two Israeli and two Palestinian suspects following a major police operation. The Drug Law Enforcement Unit seized a total of 126.63 kilograms of ketamine, alongside smaller quantities of cocaine, methedrone, MDMA, €4,150 in cash, and untaxed cigarettes discovered at two separate properties.
Authorities allege the suspects were part of an organized network smuggling drugs from Israel to Cyprus using luxury yachts docked in Larnaca and Limassol. The substances, which were reportedly disguised as sanitary ware and construction materials, were allegedly intended for distribution exclusively to Israeli permanent residents in Cyprus. Police continue to investigate the operation, with ongoing efforts to trace the supply chain and potential additional associates involved in the trafficking scheme.
