Neymar Jr helps Santos clear debts and recruits new players

Neymar Jr has intervened to assist the historic Brazilian football club Santos, which is currently struggling in 13th place in the domestic league, sitting only seven points above the relegation zone. Through his company, NR Sports, the 35-year-old star settled a two-million-euro debt owed to Monaco, a financial burden that had resulted in a ban on new player registrations since 2023 following the transfer of Jean Lucas.

In exchange for settling the debt, NR Sports has secured advertising rights on the team's jerseys, including the placement of the Pele brand. Beyond stabilizing the club's finances, Neymar has utilized his influence to recruit reinforcements. He has already convinced midfielder Arthur Melo, formerly of Barcelona, Juventus, and Liverpool, to join the squad. Furthermore, Philippe Coutinho, who departed Vasco da Gama in February, has reportedly agreed to join the team to reunite with his former national teammate.

The lifting of the transfer ban allows Santos to immediately integrate these new signings as they attempt to improve their position in the Brazilian league standings.
