Road maintenance and traffic adjustments in Paphos and Strovolos
Municipal authorities in Paphos and Strovolos have announced separate road improvement projects requiring significant traffic changes. In Paphos, construction work on Archbishop Makarios III Avenue began on September 15, 2026, and is scheduled to conclude on September 18, 2026. This project involves the partial closure of a lane heading from Konia toward Paphos, specifically between the junctions with Achepans and Thassou streets, to facilitate road and pavement improvements. Authorities have implemented a traffic management plan and advised drivers to utilize side roads.
Meanwhile, the Strovolos Municipality is conducting construction work on Tseriou Street at its junction with Platonos Street, resulting in a full road closure from September 17 to September 19, 2026, with traffic diverted via Charalambou Pettemeridi and Patriarchou Grigoriou streets. Furthermore, a longer-term traffic adjustment is scheduled for Tseriou Street starting September 21, 2026. A section between the Constantinoupoleos junction and the Charalambou Pettemeridi junction will operate as a one-way road directed toward the city center. This temporary measure is expected to remain in effect until January 10, 2027. Officials urge the public to follow on-site signage and use the designated alternative routes.
