Road works to affect Archbishop Makarios III Avenue in Paphos
Starting Tuesday, September 15, 2026, the Municipality of Paphos will implement traffic restrictions on Archbishop Makarios III Avenue due to planned road and pavement improvements. These works are part of a broader infrastructure project connecting Paphos and the Konia area.
Construction activities will necessitate the closure of one lane on the avenue, specifically the descent lane from Konia toward Paphos. The affected section stretches from the junction with Ahepan Street to the intersection with Thasou Street in Konia. While a single lane will remain open to ensure continuous traffic flow from Konia toward Paphos, officials anticipate potential congestion during the work period.
The project is scheduled to conclude on September 18, 2026. Local authorities have developed a traffic management plan and strongly advise motorists to utilize alternative side streets to minimize delays. Additional traffic adjustments may be implemented as the project progresses, depending on the speed of construction.
