Preparations underway for the 65th Limassol Wine Festival
The final preparations for the 65th annual Limassol Wine Festival have commenced with the traditional installation of the 'vrakas' statue at the Limassol Public Garden on Monday, September 14, 2026. The ceremony, which included performances by the Arion Choir, signifies the transition into the final stage of event logistics, including the setup of vendor kiosks and infrastructure.
Limassol Mayor Yiannis Armeftis confirmed that the event is scheduled to take place from September 26 to October 4, 2026. The festival will feature a diverse cultural program, including 14 concerts held over nine days. Performances will be hosted at two primary locations within the Public Garden: the 'Under the Vrakas' stage and the Marios Tokas Municipal Garden Theatre. The official opening on September 26 will include a ceremony featuring Vasiliki Hatziadamou, Sotos Gonios, and the Limassol Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by George Krasidis.
Mayor Armeftis has issued a public invitation to visitors from across Cyprus, expressing optimism that this year's edition will surpass the success of previous years in terms of both organization and attendance.
