Five arrested following violent clash in Limassol
On the night of Sunday, September 13, 2026, a violent altercation involving several individuals occurred in the Agios Ioannis area of Limassol. Police were alerted to the incident around 10:00 p.m., leading to an immediate investigation in the vicinity. During the search, officers discovered a rented vehicle containing clubs and a meat cleaver, which was seized for forensic examination.
Shortly thereafter, police located five suspects attempting to flee the area. Three individuals tried to escape by car, while two others fled on foot; all were apprehended and taken into custody for the offense of illegal assembly. The detainees are aged 21, 26, 27, 28, and 30. Authorities are currently investigating their potential involvement in the altercation.
By 1:00 a.m. on Monday, two injured men, aged 22 and 24, were discovered in separate locations within the Agios Ioannis neighborhood. They were transported to the Limassol General Hospital, where they remain in serious condition with severe head injuries and fractures.
