Omonia FC launches Green Shield initiative to combat youth delinquency

On September 14, 2026, Omonia FC, represented by the president of the club and Omonia Foundation, Stavros Papastavrou, held an event titled "Green Shield: I play clean – I live clean." The initiative, organized in collaboration with the Red Cross, aims to address critical social issues including youth delinquency, violence, addictions, and bullying.

During the event, Papastavrou emphasized that the Omonia Foundation was established specifically to support vulnerable groups, with a primary focus on the youth. Consequently, Papastavrou issued an open invitation to all sports clubs in the region to join this collective effort, acknowledging that a single organization cannot address these complex problems independently.
