Four youths arrested for Paphos burglary spree; separate car theft case reported

On September 14, 2026, Paphos police arrested four 17- and 18-year-old foreign nationals residing in Nicosia in connection with a series of ten burglaries and acts of vandalism committed during the early hours of August 22. The suspects, who allegedly moved together on a single motorcycle, targeted various business premises including three pharmacies, three gas stations, a cafeteria, a fruit shop, a mini-market, and supermarkets across Paphos, Chloraka, and Tala. Authorities report that property and cash totaling approximately 5,000 euros were stolen from five of the targeted locations.

Following their arrest, the Paphos District Court granted an eight-day detention order on September 15 to facilitate further police investigations into charges including conspiracy to commit a felony, burglary, theft, and malicious damage. In an unrelated event, a 28-year-old Cypriot man was arrested on September 15 for stealing a car in Chloraka and leading police on a dangerous pursuit that ended in a collision in Tremithousa. The suspect, known to authorities for similar previous offenses, was presented before the court for trial.
