Meeting held at Presidential Palace regarding development projects in Chrysochous
A delegation from the Municipality of Chrysochous met with government officials at the Presidential Palace on September 14, 2026, to address critical delays affecting two major infrastructure projects in the region: the expansion and upgrade of the Latsi port and the sewerage system for Polis Chrysochous. The meeting, requested by the Municipality, aimed to secure presidential intervention to remove administrative obstacles and accelerate the implementation processes.
The meeting was attended by the Government Spokesman, the Deputy Minister to the President, the Commissioner for the Environment and Animal Welfare, and leadership from the Paphos District Self-Government Organization (EOA), alongside municipal engineers and consultants. Participants discussed the significant developmental, economic, and social consequences caused by current project stagnation. The objective is to resolve these issues to allow construction and implementation to proceed within 2027, given the strategic importance of both projects for the local economy.
