Cyprus Green Party announces extraordinary electoral congress
The Central Committee of the Cyprus Green Party – Citizens' Cooperation decided on Sunday, September 13, 2026, to hold an extraordinary electoral congress on Saturday, November 14, 2026. The assembly aims to elect a new President, Deputy President, and Vice President B, while also filling vacancies within the Central Committee, the Political Committee, and various provincial committees.
To facilitate the electoral process, the party has triggered Article 61 of its charter. This measure temporarily waives standard seniority requirements for candidates, allowing registered members, friends of the movement, members of associated organizations, and past electoral collaborators to participate in the elections. Interested individuals are requested to contact the party headquarters to finalize their registration and ensure eligibility for the upcoming vote.
This decision marks a significant organizational shift for the party, intended to broaden participation in its internal leadership elections. By easing restrictions, the leadership aims to revitalize its ranks ahead of the November 14 congress, which will determine the party's future direction and organizational structure.
