Cyprus Green Party announces extraordinary electoral congress for November

The Central Committee of the Green Party – Citizens' Cooperation in Cyprus announced the scheduling of an Extraordinary Pancyprian Electoral Congress to be held on Saturday, November 14, 2026. The decision was reached during a meeting held on Sunday, September 13, 2026.

The electoral process aims to fill several key leadership positions, specifically those of the President, Deputy President, and Vice President B. Additionally, the party intends to conduct elections to fill vacancies within the Central Committee, the Political Committee, and various Provincial Committees.

A significant measure adopted during the meeting was the activation of Article 61 of the party statute. This move temporarily lifts existing prerequisites regarding length of service within the party for candidates seeking election. This relaxation applies specifically to registered members, party friends, members of affiliated organizations, and individuals who have previously participated as collaborators in parliamentary, European, or municipal elections. The party has issued an open invitation to these groups to contact the organization to update their registrations and secure their eligibility to participate in the upcoming voting process.
