Scheduled maintenance works on Larnaca-Paralimni highway

The Department of Public Works has announced maintenance operations, specifically watering services, along the central median of the Larnaca-Paralimni airport highway. The work is scheduled to take place from Tuesday, September 15, 2026, to Monday, September 21, 2026, excluding Friday and the weekend.

Operations will be conducted daily between 08:30 and 16:00. During these hours, the right lane of the highway will be closed in sections of 1.5 kilometers at a time, specifically from the Rizoelia roundabout to the Xylotymvou exit. Traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, and temporary road signage will be installed to guide drivers safely through the construction zone.

The Department of Public Works has issued a formal apology for the unavoidable inconvenience caused to motorists. Authorities urge the public to exercise patience, practice caution, and strictly follow both the temporary road markings and the instructions provided by the police to ensure road safety during the maintenance period.
