Forensic investigation recovers deleted media from doctor's phone in Mazonakis case

Greek forensic authorities have recovered two deleted photographs and one video from the mobile phone of doctor Ioanna Gaka, taken on September 9, 2026, during a plasmapheresis procedure performed on singer Giorgos Mazonakis at a private clinic on Karneadou Street. Digital analysis confirms the files were captured while the singer was present and were deleted en masse at 19:09 on the same day, shortly before both Gaka and her colleague, Ilias Theodoropoulos, reported to the Kypseli police station.

Technical evidence reveals the procedure began at 14:14:42, with subsequent logs showing several "alarm 9" notifications for high venous pressure between 14:25 and 14:26. One recovered photograph was reportedly transmitted to an unidentified recipient prior to deletion. These findings, combined with machine logs, have contributed to authorities upgrading the legal case against the two physicians to potential intentional homicide.

The investigation remains ongoing as officials examine whether specific substances were administered to the artist. The two doctors are currently under judicial scrutiny, with the recovered digital evidence acting as a central component in determining the timeline and circumstances surrounding the fatal medical incident.
