British man pleads guilty to years of drugging and raping his wife

A British man in his 60s from northern England has pleaded guilty at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court to 60 total charges regarding the abuse of his wife. The man admitted to 21 counts of rape, 15 counts of assault by penetration, 11 counts of sexual assault, and the administration of stupefying substances, alongside sharing intimate images without consent. The crimes occurred between 2004 and 2025 within the couple's home while the victim was incapacitated by drugs.

Legal authorities are currently managing the judicial proceedings, as the perpetrator was set to face trial before his sudden admission. This case remains complex, as a dozen other men, aged 28 to 74, are also facing charges of sexually abusing the same victim between 2018 and 2025. Unlike the husband, these twelve individuals have pleaded not guilty to the charges against them. A trial for these suspects is expected to last several months at the same court. The identity of the victim is protected by a lifelong anonymity order, which also prevents the naming of her husband.
