Iranian blogger sentenced to death by revolutionary court

A 33-year-old Iranian blogger, Marzieh "Sevda" Ebrahimi Samsabadi, has been sentenced to death by the Third Branch of the Revolutionary Court in Bandar Abbas. Samsabadi, who has approximately 10,000 followers on Instagram, was arrested earlier this year and remains in custody in Bandar Abbas prison.

According to reports from Iran International and the Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the charges against her include "corruption on earth," insulting the country's Supreme Leader, and engaging in propaganda against national security. Authorities also accused her of collaborating with "hostile governments" by allegedly photographing a missile-impact site and transmitting the images to foreign media. Before her arrest, she posted a final message to her social media followers, stating that she had chosen the path she believed in.

The case is part of a broader crackdown on dissent within Iran. While her legal status remains grave, no further dates regarding a final execution or potential appeal proceedings have been publicly announced by the authorities at this time.
