Cyprus public transport launches revamped Pame app

On September 15, 2026, Cyprus Public Transport (CPT) presented a revamped version of its Pame app during an event held at the University of Cyprus as part of European Mobility Week. The update aims to modernize the passenger experience by introducing advanced features, including real-time bus tracking on maps, automated route planning from start to destination, and the ability to set travel alerts based on desired arrival times. Users can now also manage their bus cards, including topping up funds or adding tickets directly through the interface.

The launch event was attended by high-ranking officials, including the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, Dr. Marina Ioannou Hasapi, CPT CEO Julio Tironi, and University of Cyprus official Menelaos Menelaou. Dr. Hasapi emphasized that the government is pushing for a transport system where buses, cycling, and walking function as an integrated network. According to Andreas Dimitriadis, CPT’s Director of Informatics and Innovation, the application was first introduced in 2020 upon the company's assumption of the Nicosia bus contract, with a strategic decision made in 2026 to prioritize further digital infrastructure enhancements to better serve the public.
