City Friends Club to host nationwide cleanup events for World Cleanup Day
On September 19, 2026, the City Friends Club (CFC) will host simultaneous cleanup events in Limassol, Larnaca, and Paphos to mark World Cleanup Day. Part of a global movement spanning over 190 countries, the initiative aims to combat waste pollution, with all waste collected in Cyprus contributing to international statistics published on the official World Cleanup Day website.
The events will run from 8:00am to 10:30am. In Limassol, the cleanup is set for the Lady’s Mile area; in Larnaca, it will take place behind the AJK building; and in Paphos, at the Kissonerga coastal area. Volunteers are scheduled to arrive between 8:00am and 8:20am for briefings and equipment distribution. Organizers will provide gloves and bags, while participants are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles. The event will feature music from ION and Lubimaya, photography documentation, and refreshments for attendees.
These cleanups are open to the public, including children and pets. Organizers emphasize that the effort is designed to be a community-focused celebration of environmental responsibility. Participants are advised to wear comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes for the activities, which conclude with a group photo and a social session.
