Aegean Airlines reports financial results for the first half of 2026

Aegean Airlines has released its financial results for the second quarter and the first half of 2026, reporting positive but diminished profitability. During the first six months of the year, the airline recorded a consolidated turnover of 816.6 million euros, representing a 4% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Despite this growth in revenue, profitability was constrained by rising fuel costs and operational disruptions in the Middle East, which led to a four-month suspension of certain flights between March and June 2026.

Throughout the first half of the year, the company transported 7.8 million passengers, marking a 3% increase in traffic that aligned with a corresponding expansion in seat capacity to 9.7 million. While domestic passenger traffic showed strength, the airline noted that the revenue generated per available seat kilometer was insufficient to fully offset the pressure from increased fuel expenditures and geopolitical instability in the region. The airline maintains that demand for air travel remains resilient despite these ongoing external challenges.
