Eurobank and Alpha Bank execute share buyback programmes on Euronext Athens
Between September 7 and September 11, 2026, Greek lenders Eurobank S.A. and Alpha Bank conducted significant share buyback operations on Euronext Athens. Eurobank acquired 1,060,775 shares at an average price of €4.7124, totaling approximately €4.99 million. Meanwhile, Alpha Bank repurchased 3,152,886 shares at an average price of €4.7160, with a total investment of €14.87 million. These transactions were executed through designated brokerage firms as part of established corporate strategies.
The repurchase efforts follow formal approvals from shareholders and boards of directors earlier in 2026. Eurobank’s initiative was authorized during its annual general meeting on April 28, 2026, while Alpha Bank’s program was approved on June 26, 2026. Alpha Bank’s latest activity brought its total holding of own shares to 6,260,374, representing 0.28 percent of its total share capital. Both institutions continue to implement their respective buyback programmes as previously announced.
