Aradippou launches tender for new water storage facility
The Larnaca District Local Government Organization (EOAL) has officially launched a tender for the design and construction of a new water storage reservoir in the Aradippou area. The project, intended to secure a 48-hour autonomous water supply for the municipality in the event of supply disruptions from the Water Development Department, is currently in the design phase. Interested parties have until October 16 to submit their proposals for the study and pipeline installation.
The reservoir will be built in the Rizoelia area, chosen specifically for its elevation to ensure optimal water pressure. With a capacity of 16,000 cubic meters, the facility is designed to meet the water needs of Aradippou, the second-largest municipality in the Larnaca district, for the next 30 years. This development accounts for projected population growth and economic expansion in the region.
Moving forward, the EOAL plans to initiate a separate tender for the actual construction phase approximately one year after the design contract is awarded. This infrastructure project is a critical component of the organization's strategy to address local water shortages and improve utility resilience for the coming decades.
