The 36-year-old founder of Tron, whose wealth is estimated at $8.5 billion by Forbes, stated that the funds were transferred in accordance with traditional customs following a period of dating with the intention of marriage.

The relationship reportedly deteriorated after the 38-year-old actress, known for her roles in Hollywood films such as "The Great Wall" and "Kong: Skull Island," allegedly demanded an additional $50 million. Sun claims this sum was requested to cover costs associated with a child born via a surrogate mother. According to Sun, he refused to pay the additional amount, leading the actress to cease communication and the engagement to be called off.

While Sun has taken the matter to court to reclaim the initial funds, Jing Tian has publicly commented on her past relationship choices without providing a detailed counter-narrative.
