In 2026, Neapolis University Pafos (NUP) attained significant academic and research recognition, highlighted by its performance at the International Mathematics Competition (IMC) for University Students. The university secured 16th place globally, ranking first among all participating institutions from Greece and Cyprus. The competition featured 447 students from 136 universities, with NUP outperforming notable institutions such as ETH Zurich, University College London, the Technical University of Munich, the University of British Columbia, and Nanyang Technological University.
Students from the university's English-language BSc in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence program contributed to this success by winning five medals—two gold and three silver. Beyond the mathematics competition, the institution achieved an international first place in programming and expanded its strategic collaborations. Key partnerships were established with the University of Reading and the Architectural Association of London. Additionally, the university has taken on the coordination of a research project under the Horizon Europe framework, further cementing its presence within the European academic and research community.
