EuroLeague announces the first EuroLeague Super Cup in Abu Dhabi
The EuroLeague is set to inaugurate its first-ever EuroLeague Super Cup, marking a significant expansion of the European basketball calendar for the 2026-27 season. The tournament will take place at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on September 18 and 19, 2026.
Four top-tier teams will compete in the event: the reigning European champion Olympiacos, runner-up Real Madrid, last year's winner Fenerbahce, and the host team, Dubai. The semi-finals are scheduled for Friday, September 18, with Olympiacos facing Fenerbahce at 17:00, followed by the match between Dubai and Real Madrid at 20:00. The third-place play-off will occur on Saturday, September 19, at 17:00, followed by the final at 20:00.
This tournament serves as a precursor to the main basketball season. The event will be broadcasted live on ALPHA Cyprus, providing viewers with full coverage of both the semi-final matches and the concluding games for the trophy.
