Inaugural EuroLeague Super Cup kicks off in Abu Dhabi

The inaugural EuroLeague Super Cup is set to take place on September 18 and 19, 2026, at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. This new tournament marks the official beginning of the 2026-27 European basketball season and features four prominent teams: the reigning European champion Olympiacos, the Spanish finalist Real Madrid, last season's winner Fenerbahce, and the host team, Dubai BC.

The tournament schedule begins on Friday, September 18, with the first semi-final between Olympiacos and Fenerbahce at 17:00, followed by the second semi-final between Dubai BC and Real Madrid at 20:00. On Saturday, September 19, the losers of the initial matches will compete in the third-place play-off at 17:00, while the winners will face off in the final at 20:00. The event is being broadcast live on Alpha Kyprou. This competition represents a significant expansion of the EuroLeague basketball calendar into the Middle East, showcasing the top talent from the continent in a new, historical format.
