Actor Petros Filippidis in court for appeal and lawsuit proceedings

Greek actor and director Petros Filippidis has appeared before the Supreme Court of Greece to appeal his criminal conviction. Accompanied by his wife, Elpida Ninou, Filippidis is seeking to overturn the unanimous decision of the Athens Mixed Jury Court of Appeal, which found him guilty of two counts of attempted rape without the recognition of any mitigating circumstances.

Simultaneously, on September 17, 2026, Filippidis attended proceedings at the Evelpidon courthouse regarding a lawsuit he filed against his first accuser. The actor argued that the initial allegations made by this woman were the direct cause of his earlier pre-trial detention. It is noted that the Mixed Jury Court had previously acquitted him of this specific charge due to reasonable doubt.
