ELAM announces internal elections and organizational restructuring

The ELAM party has initiated a significant internal reorganization process aimed at modernizing its operational structure and enhancing policy-making capabilities. Following a meeting of the party's Central Committee on September 15, 2026, it was decided to establish thematic secretariats to draft specific policy proposals and to launch the formal procedures for upcoming internal elections.

The elections are scheduled to take place in November and will be divided into two separate processes. The first stage will focus on the election of 40 members to the Central Committee and the appointment of Provincial Secretariats. The second stage will involve the leadership elections for the positions of President, Deputy President, and three Vice Presidents. An Electoral Committee has been appointed to oversee these procedures and is currently tasked with establishing a formal timeline for candidate nominations and specific election dates.

While sources indicate there is currently no formal opposition to the incumbent leadership, the possibility of contested races has not been officially ruled out. These structural changes are intended to prepare the party for future political challenges within the current electoral cycle.
