Limassol hosts cycling and car-free events on September 20

On Sunday, September 20, 2026, the city of Limassol will host two major events promoting sustainable mobility and healthier lifestyles. The day begins at 9:00 a.m. with the annual 10km Limassol Cycling Tour, which starts at the Enaerios parking area. Organized by the Limassol Municipality as part of the official Lemesia program, the event encourages citizens of all ages to cycle through the city and along the coastline. Participation is free, and bicycles will be provided by Nextbike for those who do not own one.

Following the morning ride, the Limassol Tourism Development and Promotion Company (ETAP), supported by the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, will host a Car-Free Day on Gladstonos Street from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. to mark European Mobility Week. A section of Gladstonos Street, stretching from the Pentadromos junction to the intersection with Karaiskaki Street, will be closed to motorized traffic. The area will instead host a Traffic Education Park, a Sustainable Mobility Zone, and live mural graffiti art, prioritizing pedestrians and cyclists to foster community engagement.
