EuroLeague inaugural Super Cup begins in Abu Dhabi

The inaugural EuroLeague Basketball Super Cup is set to take place on September 18-19, 2026, at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. The tournament will follow a Final Four format featuring Olympiacos, Fenerbahçe, Real Madrid, and the host team, Dubai BC. The semi-finals are scheduled for Friday, September 18: Olympiacos will face Fenerbahçe at 17:00 (Greek time), followed by Dubai BC against Real Madrid at 20:00. The third-place play-off and the grand final will follow on Saturday, September 19.

All four teams have arrived in the United Arab Emirates as of late September 16, following a slight delay in the Olympiacos flight due to check-in technical issues. Olympiacos center Nikola Milutinov has joined the squad, although his participation remains uncertain due to physical discomfort following a recent game against Maccabi Tel Aviv. The EuroLeague organizing body has officially unveiled the trophy for this new competition, aiming to establish a prestigious start to the season.
