Shooting attack against office building in Limassol
On the night of Wednesday, September 16, 2026, around 10:50 p.m., an armed attack took place in the Linopetra area of Limassol. Two individuals riding a high-powered motorcycle approached a building housing various offices and fired multiple shots using a pistol before fleeing the scene.
The attack caused damage to the building’s main entrance door and a first-floor window. Police officers arrived shortly after, securing the scene and discovering five shell casings. The building belongs to a 60-year-old Ukrainian national with Cypriot citizenship, who runs a group of companies involved in real estate, investments, and technology. The owner was abroad at the time of the incident.
According to Deputy Police Chief Lefteris Kyriakou, the victim has no prior criminal record and had not reported any threats or disputes previously. Staff at the firm also stated they were unaware of any existing conflicts. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage captured in the area to identify the two perpetrators. The Limassol Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is leading the investigation and is expected to take a formal statement from the business owner upon his return to the country.
