Limassol municipality announces bulky waste collection for Katholiki area

The Limassol Municipality has scheduled an organized collection of bulky items in the Katholiki area for September 18, 2026. This initiative is part of a broader municipal clean-up campaign aimed at improving local hygiene and the quality of life for residents.

Residents living on specific streets, including Lefkosias, Larnakos, Karatza, Ammochostou, Petrou Tsirou, and others, are requested to place eligible items—such as old furniture, mattresses, wooden items, and large plastic toys—outside their premises starting the previous afternoon. The municipality explicitly states that rubble, construction materials, daily household waste, and agricultural pruning debris will not be accepted. Items must be positioned to ensure they do not obstruct pedestrian or vehicle traffic.

This collection serves as a periodic effort by local authorities to manage large-scale waste that is typically excluded from daily refuse collection services. Municipal officials have appealed to the public for cooperation and responsible disposal to ensure the campaign's effectiveness.
