Strovolos Municipality expands childcare infrastructure

Strovolos Municipality is moving forward with the construction of a new childcare facility, resolving a project delayed for over two decades. On September 8, 2026, the Municipal Council decided to proceed with the development of the facility on Stadiou Street, fulfilling the legacy of the late Katina Mikellidou, who bequeathed the property to a foundation in 2003 specifically for the care of infants and toddlers. The project is now part of the municipality's strategic development plan through 2030, aiming to provide affordable and safe childcare for working parents.

Simultaneously, the municipality has launched three new afternoon childcare stations for the 2026/2027 school year, located at the Agia Marina, Konstantinoupoleos, and Archangelos public kindergartens. These stations will accommodate 60 preschool children until 6:00 PM daily. This initiative is managed by the Polydynamo Municipal Center of Strovolos, which already supports 850 primary education students across thirteen centers. The program is supported by funding from the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare to meet the growing needs of local families.
