Halliburton secures multi-year contract for Kronos field development in Cyprus

Halliburton has been awarded a multi-year contract by the Italian energy group Eni to provide integrated drilling, construction, and completion services for the Kronos gas field, located in Block 6 of the Cypriot Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). Announced on September 15, 2026, the project aims to optimize operations and reduce costs through the application of advanced technologies, including LOGIX automation, remote operations, directional drilling, and specialized cementing services. All activities will be supported by Halliburton's existing infrastructure and regional capabilities on the island.

The Kronos field, discovered in 2022 and evaluated in 2024, is planned to be developed through four subsea wells. The operational strategy involves transporting the extracted natural gas via an underwater pipeline to Egypt, where it will be processed at the Zohr field infrastructure and liquefied at the Damietta facility for export to European markets. Commercial production is projected to commence in 2028, representing a key milestone in regional energy infrastructure development.
