PAOK prepares for 8th Pavlos Giannakopoulos tournament

The 8th Pavlos Giannakopoulos basketball tournament is scheduled to begin on September 18, 2026, at the T-Center in Athens. The event features four teams: PAOK, Partizan, Panathinaikos, and Bourg. The opening match will see PAOK face Partizan at 17:30, followed by Panathinaikos against Bourg at 21:00.

PAOK head coach Andrea Trinchieri has confirmed his squad for the trip to Athens, which includes Mitrou-Long, Osman, Alexander, Chougkaz, Omoruyi, Hutchins, Kaklamanakis, Foster, Persidis, Fillios, Moore, Kalaitzis, and Bazinas. Players Brin Tyree and RaiQuan Gray remain unavailable due to ongoing injury recovery. This tournament serves as the final preparatory phase for PAOK before the commencement of official competitive duties.

During a press conference, Trinchieri expressed satisfaction with the invitation, noting that participating in such a prestigious event signifies the progress made by the Thessaloniki club over the past six months. He emphasized that the team's primary goal during the tournament is not to focus solely on the final scores, but to evaluate their current competitive potential and tactical growth in preparation for the upcoming official season.
