Recent traffic incidents across Cyprus

Several traffic incidents were reported across Cyprus between September 16 and 18, 2026, causing localized traffic disruptions. On the morning of September 16, a traffic jam occurred near the Kalo Chorio roundabout on the Larnaca highway due to two accidents. Following this, on the evening of September 17, a collision involving three vehicles occurred on the Limassol-Paphos bypass near the Tsirion area. Three individuals were injured in the Limassol incident and taken to the hospital, though their injuries were not reported as serious. Police closed the right lane to conduct investigations and move the vehicles, eventually restoring normal traffic flow by 9:30 p.m. the same night.

Separately, on the morning of September 18, another accident occurred in the 2nd Industrial Area of Paphos. Two vehicles collided, causing one to end up in a field, which resulted in the injury of one person. Emergency services provided first aid at the scene, and police are currently investigating the circumstances of this collision. Authorities continue to urge drivers to maintain safe speeds and follow traffic regulations to prevent further incidents.
