Cyprus participates in the Olympic Hopes regatta in Bratislava
A delegation from the Cyprus Canoe Federation is currently participating in the prestigious Olympic Hopes regatta, held in Bratislava, Slovakia, from September 17 to 20, 2026. The competition, taking place at the Zemník venue, serves as a premier international platform for young canoeing talent, attracting athletes from dozens of countries to compete at the highest developmental level.
The Cypriot team is represented by four athletes: Panagiotis Evangelou, Antonis Kyriakou, Stepan Kozlov, and Marios Mosaikos. The team is under the professional guidance of coach Michalis Kyriakou, who is overseeing their preparation and strategic approach throughout the event. While the Cyprus Canoe Federation lists all four athletes as part of the national mission, the Limassol Nautical Club specifically highlighted the participation of Antonis Kyriakou and Stepan Kozlov as representatives of their organization.
This event is considered a significant milestone for the athletes, offering them crucial international experience as they prepare for future sporting challenges. The participation reflects the ongoing systematic progress of the sport in Cyprus and serves as an opportunity for these young athletes to test their skills against global peers.
