Dogs belonging to Stefanos Tsitsipas' family attack three people in Vari

On the morning of Thursday, September 17, 2026, two German Shepherd dogs escaped from a residential property in Vari, Attica, and attacked three individuals. Among the victims were a 76-year-old man and his relative, Tina Kasidokosta, who was bitten on the arm and required assistance from a municipal stray animal warden to reach a health center. A third victim, a 57-year-old woman, was transported to KAT Hospital where she received stitches for a thigh wound.

Police subsequently arrested the aunt of tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas, who resides at the property, on charges of multiple counts of bodily harm by negligence. Authorities have also initiated a search for the tennis player's mother, who is reportedly the owner of one of the animals and may currently be abroad. Reports indicate that the dogs involved had allegedly been linked to similar incidents approximately nine months and one year ago, suggesting a pattern of allowing the animals to roam freely.

Legal proceedings are ongoing, with a case file formed against the detained aunt. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack and are actively seeking the mother of the athlete as part of the legal process.
