Three people injured in dog attack in Vari involving Tsitsipas family pets

On the morning of Thursday, September 17, 2026, two German Shepherd dogs attacked three individuals in the Vari area of Attica, Greece. The victims include Tina Kasidokosta, her uncle, and a third unidentified woman. According to testimonies, the dogs approached the victims on the street, knocked them to the ground, and bit them, requiring medical attention at the local health center.

Following the incident, local police initiated an investigation and arrested the aunt of professional tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas. Authorities have filed charges against her for negligent bodily harm. Reports indicate that one of the dogs is registered to the tennis player's mother and the other to his aunt. Police are currently searching for the mother as part of the ongoing investigation, conducting proceedings under the framework of the 'autoforo' (mandatory immediate arrest process).
