Ireland announced it will abstain from Eurovision in 2027 as well

Ireland has announced that it will not participate in or broadcast the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest, maintaining its protest against the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The national broadcaster, RTE, stated that participation cannot be justified while civilian lives remain at risk, marking the second consecutive year of the country's absence. Ireland, a seven-time winner of the competition, joins other nations in the boycott, following a similar decision made by the Dutch broadcaster AvroTros.
