Cultural highlights across Cyprus for late September

The week of September 17–20, 2026, features a vibrant array of cultural events across Cyprus, including food markets, theatre, and dance. The Fork Food Market took place on September 18 at the Nicosia Municipal Gardens, while the Laou Laou community event occurred on September 20 in the Ayioi Omologites neighbourhood of Nicosia and on Gladstone Street in Limassol. International and local comedy acts, including Reece Kidd and Elena Gabrielle, toured Paphos, Limassol, and Nicosia throughout the weekend.

Dance enthusiasts focused on the 4th Cyprus Choreography Showcase at the Rialto Theatre in Limassol from September 18 to 20, featuring eight contemporary works by artists such as Panos Malaktos and Petros Konnaris. Meanwhile, Nicosia hosted the 29th University of Cyprus Cultural Festival and the debut of the international co-production "When I Saw the Sea" by Lebanese choreographer Ali Chahrour, highlighting the stories of migrant domestic workers.

Upcoming cultural events include the screening of the award-winning documentary "Varosha, the Hostage City" at the Pantheon Cinema on September 22.
