Two fires reported in Limassol district

Two separate fire incidents occurred on September 18, 2026, in the Limassol district. The first incident involved a brush fire near the Pissouri area along the Limassol-Paphos highway. Firefighting efforts involved five vehicles from local stations in the Limassol district, supported by one fire truck from the British Bases. The fire was successfully contained following the operation by the fire services.

Separately, a second fire broke out at 12:07 in an abandoned multi-story building in the Germasogeia area of Limassol. Two fire vehicles from the Agios Nikolaos station responded to the scene, discovering that the blaze was limited to waste materials in the stairwell. Following a search of the premises, officials confirmed that no one was trapped inside. Police and fire authorities are currently investigating the incident, with officials specifically examining the possibility of arson by unknown perpetrators.
